Aims:
- to read simple scales accurately
- to learn about metric units and those Imperial units which are still commonly used in the UK
- to teach this topic in a fun way!
The Activities:
The activities require Flash Player.
These activities were developed in response to comments from teachers of other subjects – particularly food technology and science – that students could not use measuring jugs, cylinders etc accurately. Eventually there will be more activities, not all are online yet.
- Marvo’s Metric Challenge: Students have to drag labels into position on some measuring jugs. This involves working with millilitres and litres. Some of the labels are distinctly yucky, but I don’t think that there’s anything that will offend anyone!
Not everything is online yet, this is a big project! More links will appear as I complete more sections.
